Priorities

So, its December the 17th and I'm in bed writing this post, I feel sad that I haven't posted in almost 2 months but it is my own doing, I can't blame it on the fact that the wifi is down or that I'm busy because if I really wanted to post it I would have found a way.

This months post is about priority. Learning to prioritize in life is very Important, without this simple skill the things you love and are passionate about will fall away and when you realize it, it might be too late.

I love writing, it keeps me sane and helps me deal with life's problems, it also helps me see the possitive side and see that there will always be light at the end of the tunnel. Today a friend reminded me how much I enjoy writing and that is why I decided to stop everything I am doing and write this post, I will try my best to make writing my top priority and in future will have posts out on time.

I have a challege for all the Scribblerz, sit down and make a list of priorities in your life and try to stick to it, before you know it, it will be a routine and come naturally to you.

One more thing before I go, I would like to thank my readers for following me and reading my posts because without you guys I would have stopped blogging a long time ago, thank you for being around, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year Scribblerz ... Now I just need to figure out how to post this ...

Depression

Hi Scribblers!

Can you believe it's already October? Everywhere you look you see Halloween decorations and pumpkin flavoured everything, so before I go further let me wish you all a Happy Halloween!!!

For this month's post i would like to focus on Mental Health Awareness.

The theme this year is Learn and Grow and that basically means that we should learn more about mental health and grow from it.

One of the most command mental health problems is Depression, did you know that 350 million people worldwide suffer from depression, that's 5% of the world's population (and no if you feel sad every once in a while you are not depressed and that doesn't make you strange or weak in any way at all). Everyone suffers from depression at some stage in their life weather you're depressed about school, work or even socialising with people, even I occasionally suffer from depression and feel super down and not willing to face the world but you know what? That's okay, it's normal and happens to everyone once in a while. Alot of celebrities have even come out and spoke about their depression and how they've dealt with it in various ways that best suit them and that's the important thing, dealing with it and finding a way that best suits you, (mine happens to be writing and listening to music or even reading a book) so find a hobby that will make you smile and give you a reason to look forward to the next day, everyday.

No matter what type of depression you have, suffer from or know of someone who suffered from it, the important thing to remember is that you CAN get through it, some people need medication and some people just need the will power to eliminate the negativity and feel better. This month I have a challenge for all of you, if we all try to help or speak to one person who is suffering from depression it could make a difference even if it's just a small difference. So Scribblers let's help people and not judge people who have depression, let's spread love and accept people for who that are.

Doors

Hi Scribblers!

So I've been reading a book by Neil Gaiman called Neverwhere and I'm only 3 chapters in but I was paging through it an came across something he said, he said "I lobe doors. Anything that leads to possibilities" and of course I fell in love with the thought and the way it was written. I started thinking about it and decided that this month's post has to be on new posibilities and opportunities.

Every door you go though leads you to a different room, I like to look at life that way, everything you do, every choice you make opens a new door and leads you a different way (that kind of makes me think about those Goosebumps books I use to read where you choose the ending). Sometimes when I'm stuck and can't make a decision I like to think I'm standing a big room with lots of doors and each door is my choice, I contemplate the outcome of each decision by "looking in the room" and the room I like the most is the decision I choose.

We will always have to choose what to do, what to wear, who to talk to or where to go but one thing we need to remember is that what you choose is your choice and it should be chosen because you want it and not because you are forced into it. Our decisions should be our own and our mistakes, our own so we can learn from it and in future be able to better ourselves from the inside and out.

Girl Love

Hi Scribblerz!

Wow it's already August and because it's women's month here in South Africa this month's post will be dedicated to ALL the women out there who are working hard to become known and make a difference in this world.

As young women growing up with an Indian background we are forced into thinking that women can only do certain things such as learning to cook, looking after the kids and looking after your husband, however I am grateful to be brought up where I can do anything I want and be anyone I want (to a certain extent) which definitely is better than nothing.

Women have always been known to be mean, unnecessary and bitchy to one another and the media is to blame for that, why do we need to be pinned against each other? Why can't we stand together and make a difference together? A Youtuber known as Lilly Singh aka Superwoman has started an amazing movement called Girl Love, where we as women, young women or even young girls can all make a difference and change the world (let's all be Powerpuff Girls or was I the only one who wanted to be one?) by instead of putting each other down we can pick each other up. So let's stand together and start spreading #GirlLove. (If you are interested in learning more about Girl Love check out the twitter handle @SpreadGirlLove or check out IISuperwomanII on YouTube)

Friendship

So I recently watched Winne The Pooh (yes I'm 22 and still watch cartoons) and realised that he has the strangest friends, they are all so different from each other but together they always have the most fun.

Having the right company is important to build your character but it's also important that they push you to your full potential and help you grow into an amazing human being. Friends are important and will always be because you can always count on them, personally I have alot of acquaintances but very few friends, you know the ones who are there when you really need them? The ones that you see once or twice a year but you feels like you've seen them just last week and those few friends that even turn into family.

For this month's post I want to give a special thank you to all my friends who have been around for me through the hardships and good times, through my mood swings and through my crazy, strange, weird moments of life, Thank You for being you and helping me become ME. I don't regret anything, from the friends I've lost to the new ones I've made, to the ones who have been around forever and those who I can't imagine my life without, Thank You!

Peace On Earth

Hi Scribblers!

Okay so first of all yes I know today is the 25th and my post is super late but I'm really sorry because I've been busy with university exams and it's also Ramadan  (the month that all Muslims fast and to all my Muslim reader I hope you are having a blessed Ramadan), which actually brings me to my second topic, Muslims. Yes I am a Muslim and no I don't hate or have anything against lesbian, bi sexual, gay or transgender people, yes I'm talking about the horrible event that happen in Orlando. I may be late to talk about the topic but I would still like to send my love and condolences to everyone who's friend,  family or loved ones were hurt or killed in the disturbing act of hate, may they all RIP.

This brings me to this month's topic which is peace. I believe that peace begins with a smile, if I smile at you and you start smiling at someone else this smile will be spread worldwide, because smiles are not only contagious (trust me you should try it) but they can also change the way you feel without alot of effort.

Peace between mankind should come naturally to all of us but in the world we live in there's so much hate, crime and murder that being nice to someone seems so odd or strange. So why don't we try something? If everyone who reads this post sends a positive tweet out to someone or anyone they know or even just smile at a stranger you'll be making a small difference in the world and who knows it might cause a ripple effect because if we don't spread love, peace and happiness then who will??

It's been a year already?!?

Hi Scribblers!

Today's post is going to be a bit different, so for most people (including myself) who didn't know it's been a whole year that I've blogged ... Can you believe it? Because I definitely can't.

Last year around the 10th of May I was thinking about writing a blog but wasn't sure what to write about and if people are actually going to read it, naturally I had to find someone to get their opinion on it. I asked a close friend (who's practically my sister) if I should start writing a blog and she replied by saying "Yes why not?", so together we sat and thought about names for the blog and I finally came up with the name Bubbling Scribbler because, well it just sounded cute.

On the 12th of May I posted my first post which was a welcome post and things just got going from there. So far I've tried to post one blog every month on the 15th (with a few exceptions here and there) but overall I'm really proud of this little blog that I have.

It's been a whole year that I'm blogging and I still fell like a new blogger, also I'm not even sure if you guys enjoy reading my blog posts so if you do come across a post and you like it please tweet me at @ziakinz123 and tell me what you like or don't like because I'd love to hear from you guys.

Heartbreak

Heartbreak, something we all know, felt or heard about. Heartbreak, that terrible lost feeling you get when you realise it's over. Heartbreak, the painful feeling you get in your chest and everything turns grey and gloomy (although gloomy weather is my favourite).

Your first heartbreak is something you can't forget, you're so young, naive and innocent. You get all dramatic, playing sad love songs, dressing emo in black and you feel like the world is coming to a stand still. You do silly things like cut your hair because he said "I like your long hair" or you start wearing hoodies and swag pants because he liked that you dressed girly.

After a while things get better and you stop being depressed (eating 2 McFlurry's , a slab of chocolate and binge watching Dear John everyday) and suddenly you see that it does get better. You realise that you can still go on with life.

One day you walking in the mall and someone catches your eye, you feel the butterflies in your stomach and that feeling comes back, when you realise "Oh no, there we go again"

I guess what I'm trying to say is that no matter how hard times are, you always find a way to get through it and in the end you learn something out of it. I believe that everything happens for a reason and all the heartache, hardship and worries only make you stronger.

So to anyone out there that's going through a difficult time just stay strong, smile and be positive because before you know it everything will be better.

I Can Do It

Pain, suffering, tears, heartache...

I could go on and on with this list and mention  about a million different reasons to give up on life, give up on someone or even give up on yourself. I mean each and every one of us have a breaking point right? But what makes us fighters is the will power to move forward, move through it all.

Now where does that will power cone from? If we believe it's something worth fighting for, that will power will come naturally, and if it doesn't maybe you need a new perspective. Try looking at the situation from another person's point of view.

Most importantly you need to believe in yourself and be able to push through the boundaries you set for yourself.

Destruction

A volcano is slowly simmering, bubbling and starting to heat up. Suddenly it erupts with hot lava, destroying everything in it's path ...

The volcano is now calm and the destruction is done, the once clean, clear, barren land is now covered with red hot bubbling lava.

The lava has cooled, the lands beginning to look normal but if you look closely the very same land has now turned into hard, cold stone ...

Forming this hard surface took time, effort and strength but the land has finally healed.
A sudden eruption occurs and the bubbling hot molten lava is sadly burning and destroy everything in it's path once again ...

But over time the stone will harden again and all the  scratched and damaged will become seen but guess what? There's soil around that stone...

The little bit of soil is now slowly beginning to sprout, becoming something, shaping itself into luscious green grass, some sweet smelling pink roses, growing right from under the destruction...

The barren land can now give life, happiness, belonging and maybe even some brightness to another.

Overthinking

So it's almost the end of January and I've been thinking and thinking about what to write. My first thought was "hmmmm what about something to do with new year resolutions?", but then I thought it's too late in January to write that. So I sat down and scribbled idea's on a paper and finally it came to me, Overthinking ... I've been doing it for the last hour (well actually my whole life) and it seems to be a fitting topic.

So the definition of overthinking is to think about something too much or for too long. Now to me that's kind of strange because how do you know when you've thought enough? What is the limit of thinking? How long should you think? When does it fall into the category of overthinking?

Overthinking is very common amongst us all and we tend to do it very often, most of the time without even noticing we're doing it. Have you been in a situation where you take a picture and you like it so you decide to post it on instagram, but suddenly you feel the need to look at the picture 100 times, edit the small mark off your forehead, make sure your double chin isn't too visible, then you think about the hashtags you're going to use (because obviously that's just as important to get as many likes possible). So why do we do it? Why do we care about what other people think?

Society today has put so much pressure on us to fit in that everything we do we tend to overthink it. We are constantly waiting for someone's affirmation before making any decisions in our own life, by allowing overthinking to rule your life, do you think you will ever truly be happy with yourself?

I leave you with this "Overthinking is a dream killer. Sometimes you can drown yourself in your own thoughts" - Steve Maraboli
